Join a host of opera professionals, musicians, and academics from West Australian Opera and The UWA Conservatorium of Music in an informative, inclusive and entertaining exploration of Opera. Hosted by West Australian Opera’s Artistic Director Christopher van Tuinen, this three-part series guides you through the voice types, the history of and types of opera, as well as the steps to putting a performance on stage alongside performance highlights throughout.
Whether you’re an opera lover already or simply looking to learn something new, there’s something to discover in this jargon-free exploration of the world’s greatest art form.

The West Australian Opera was established in 1967 and has been Western Australia’s full-time, professional opera company for over 50 years. West Australian Opera presents operas drawn from the mainstream operatic repertoire and is involved in the commissioning and development of new work.
