Purpose of These Guidelines

As part of APATA’s ongoing efforts in making APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) a great place to get together with like-minded enthusiasts from around the country and around the world, you agree to abide by our ‘Code of Conduct’.

Your commitment to this Code of Conduct in all forums, chat areas, email services, and/or other message or communication facilitates designed to enable you to communicate with the public at large or with a member, ensures a positive experience for all our users. By participating in any areas of APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd), you agree to be bound by this Code of Conduct.

APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) is not responsible for any user-created content on this site, including but not limited to forums, chat areas, email services, and/or message or communication facilities unless the contrary is expressly stated.

The APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) Community Guidelines are general-purpose and designed for use by individuals that are 18 years of age or older.

Respecting Other Users

  • We encourage everyone to treat each other with mutual respect
  • We request members do not make inflammatory remarks in order to provoke others
  • We encourage members to refrain from the use of excessive written terms such as capitals, excessive punctuation, etc. in communications breaching forum etiquette
  • APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) is a moderated forum. Should inappropriate message and/or communication occur the moderator will remove from the website and other associated platforms
  • APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) moderator has the right to reject and ban users at their discretion that violate Code of Conduct principles
  • Members undertaking in unlawful and discrimination behaviour will be removed from the APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) community

Respect for People in The Arts and Creative Industry

APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) is privileged to have many good relationships across all sectors of the arts industry. These representatives are to be treated with respect at all times. Constructive feedback is welcome, although disruptive comment is not acceptable.

All members are welcome to participate across our forums and events.

You Are Responsible

You are responsible and liable for all your activities while participating in APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) forums, activities, events or services. Please remember, you are responsible for your actions and your APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) member account. Please take care to log out of your account if you are accessing from a computer in a public space. Each member user will be held ultimately responsible for all posts made from your account.

APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) offers our users the ability to create their own member areas. APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) takes no responsibility for the ratings, content, nor any activities resulting from the content or otherwise in these areas. The creators or hosts of these user-created areas are required to agree to and uphold this Code of Conduct before creating their profile.

The website or forum areas are not designed as the primary places to store any materials. You are responsible for creating back-ups of materials you post such as photos, documents, etc. APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) is not responsible for loss of access to or deletion or alteration of any materials included in any member areas.

Posting offensive content, including although not limited to, text, images, links to objectionable content is expressly prohibited. As an APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) member you are responsible for any actions you may take based on advice or information you receive online. Use your own good judgement when evaluating information provided through any member services, remember that the information provided could be from individuals of any age and experience level. The decision to conduct transactions with anyone is your own and you should conduct your own research prior to making any decisions.

Uphold Code of Conduct

In helping to make member services a rewarding experience for the community, you are requested to do your part to uphold this Code of Conduct. It is prohibited to encourage other users to break this Code of Conduct.

APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) reserves the right to immediately terminate or suspend access to any member service for violations of our Code of Conduct.

APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) also reserves our right to amend or change the Code of Conduct at any time without notice. You agree to periodically review this document to ensure you are complying with the APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) Code of Conduct.

Moderation

The moderator/s for APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) are there to make time spent with the APATA (The Australian Performing Arts Teachers Association Pty Ltd) community enjoyable for its members as a whole. If you feel that someone has breached our community Code of Conduct, or a moderator decision has been unfair in managing an issue we strongly suggest you report this to our moderators at hello@apata.com.au
