Introducing AMEB’s new Teaching syllabuses

We know when a student steps into your teaching studio, something magical can happen.

The dynamic between a dedicated music teacher and an engaged student is unique, rewarding and priceless. The AMEB also knows teaching isn’t easy. It can be challenging and isolated, especially for independent studio music teachers.

That’s why the AMEB has developed their new AMEB Teaching Syllabuses. So you can learn from the best, embrace those challenges, and be inspired to create that magic.

The AMEB’s Certificate Teacher of Music Australia (CTMusA) and Associate Teacher of Music Australia (ATMusA) have been developed by Australian and international researchers and practitioners in music education.

You’ll gain the knowledge and tools to build or deepen your practice, and establish self-reflective skills so you can continue to grow as a teacher – now and into the future.

Join Dr Emily Dollman, AMEB Teaching Syllabuses contributor and A/Director Music Education and Pedagogy at the Elder Conservatorium of Music, University of Adelaide, and AMEB’s Head of Publishing, Steven Hodgson, as they take you through AMEB’s groundbreaking new Teaching syllabuses.

Whether you are new to music teaching or an established teacher, find out how the AMEB Teaching syllabuses can help you enhance your studio teaching practice based on the latest research in music pedagogy.

Together, Emily and Steven will discuss:

  • how the syllabuses can help you
  • what you’ll learn
  • everything you need to know about assessment and enrolling

Developed by leading researchers and practitioners in music education, AMEB’s new Certificate Teacher of Music Australia and Associate Teacher of Music Australia apply the latest pedagogical research to the Australian studio music setting.

With a flexible and affordable structure, these world-class syllabuses will help you improve your students’ engagement, motivation and achievement, and ultimately increase the satisfaction you gain from teaching.
