Marcel the Shell returns in Feature Film

Posted by Team APATA | Apr 21, 2022

Have you met Marcel the Shell? He’s partially a shell, with shoes and no face, and he likes that about himself.

The world first met Marcel just over a decade ago in the iconic debut stop motion short “Marcel the Shell with Shoes On’, directed by Dean Fleischer-Camp.

Voiced (untreated and unenhanced) by actress Jenny Slate the little googly-eyed shell became an online sensation, garnered multiple awards, spawned a book, two sequels and now he’s back with a feature-length mockumentary from A24 Films.

We now find Marcel living with his grandmother and pet lint Alan. They live in tiny treehouses designed by Jedediah Corwyn Voltz, watch 6o minutes, and begin an endearing search for their long-lost family following a mysterious tragedy.

Watch the trailer above, and just try not to fall head over heels for “Marcel the Shell with the Shoes On” again.

Released in the USA 24 June 2022. (via Uncrate) Hopefully we will be able to see it in theatres in Australia too.
