Producers Louise Telford and Kelley Abbey are thrilled to be gathering the biggest names in the business where the true legends of Australian and International dance will teach masterclasses, Q&A industry panels, once-in-a-lifetime performance opportunities and more at the 2024 Light The Way Dance Convention.

In addition to the best choreographers and creatives this country has to offer, the international guest faculty member in 2024 will be none other than iconic choreographer and creative director WADE ROBSON!

In addition to three inspiring days of masterclasses and workshops, dance studios from all over Australia will come together to perform in one huge Performing Arts Gala Event on Sunday 9 June 2024.

Hundreds of incredible Australian performers will take to the stage alongside current professional and industry legends who are lighting the way for the next generation!

What Does The Program Look Like?

Friday 7 June Pre-Professional Day 8.30am – 7.30pm

Friday 7 June 2024 is a day geared specifically to all pre-professional aspiring performing artists, as well as current professional dancers who want to immerse themselves in everything the Australian dance industry has to offer.

Prepare yourself for the biggest names in the business to inspire and educate the next generation of Australian dancers. The day will include masterclasses, mock auditions, career advice and industry panel discussions.

Mock Audition Workshop

The day will include a mock-audition workshop facilitated by convention producer and Australian dance royalty Kelley Abbey. Students will be put through their paces by a panel of industry heavyweights and of ourse our Producer Kelley Abbey, learning the skill needed to endure an authentic cattle-call audition.

Saturday 8 June Light The Way Convention 8.30am – 7.30pm

A full day of workshops, masterclasses and industry panel Q&A sessions with Australia’s most prolific and successful dancers, choreographers and creatives. Never before has a faculty of this calibre been assembled to inspire and educate the next generation of dancers. The Light the Way Team is also excited to be bringing an International Superstar Choreographer over to Australia for the Light The Way Dance Convention who will be teaching workshops for all ages on the Saturday and Sunday of the convention.

Light The Way Performing Arts Gala – 7.30pm

The Sunday night Showcase Performing Arts Gala will be a celebration of dance, with the opportunity for Fulltime and Part Time Performing Arts studios to perform on this state-of-the-art stage at Australia’s newest multi-million dollar venue Sydney Coliseum Theatre. The evening will also include performances from professional dancers choreographed by some of the best creatives in Australia.
