Poem Forest – Write a poem. Plant a tree.

Primary and Secondary Teachers sign up your class for a free digital workshop with Gamilaroi poet, folklorist and musician Luke Patterson for Threatened Species Day, 7 September!

Students and teachers will be guided through writing activities from a curriculum-aligned learning resource to help craft nature poems and enrich learning outcomes across sustainability, First Nations cultures & histories, English & Science to write their own threatened species poem for the #POEMFOREST Prize.

All POEM FOREST Prize entries will be published and in the running for $5,000 worth of prizes, including $500 cash for each category, book packs, Garden tours, seeds and more!

Created by Red Room Poetry, in partnership with The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan, POEM FOREST deepens our connection and breathes life back into the world that sustains us. For every nature poem received a tree is planted to help heal endangered habitats. 5,000+ poem trees were planted in 2021!
