Blackall-Tambo Circus Carnival

Posted by Team APATA | Aug 18, 2022

We’re loving that we have an outback themed studio news this week, with another exciting event coming up.

The Blackall Tambo Circus Carnival is 10 days of circus celebration held in the birthplace of Australian circus.

The Perry Brothers Circus came to be in 1889 and was the first circus to go on the road across Australia inspiring others to do the same.

In fact it was young Blackall resident Mary Ellen Atkins who ran away and joined the Perrys who would become known as the ‘Grand Old Lady of the Circus’.
