Arts Activated 2021 is Australia’s leading forum for increasing access to arts, culture and events for arts practitioners and audiences with disability or who are d/Deaf.

Due to the impact of the recent COVID-19 outbreak in Sydney, we’ve adapted our conference format and schedule. Monday 23 August is a virtual session, with one day of live sessions in Sydney planned for Wednesday 6 October.

And also because of COVID-19, the theme of this year’s event will be ‘Building Back For Everyone’ with a focus on how the post-COVID response of creative industries can help advance access and inclusion for arts practitioners and audiences with disability

On Monday August 23rd:

Keynote speech will be delivered by Suzanne Bull MBE – global leader in arts and disability advocacy and founder/CEO of influential UK arts and disability organisation Attitude Is Everything (AIE) – has been making live music more accessible for over 20 years. In this keynote session with Accessible Arts Interim CEO Morwenna Collett, Ms Bull details the ups and downs of her two decades of activism in the arts, the importance of an inclusive post-COVID recovery for the arts and cultural sector, the work AIE does with venues and festivals in particular, and how disability-led campaigning across the creative industries is the most effective way for bringing about meaningful and long-lasting change.
