Swinburne Student Curators for ACMI

ACMI’s Cinema 3 platform fosters the next generation of makers, players and watchers by bringing a rich program of feature films to you at home.

All you need to do is create and account and start streaming. $25 to rent a five film bundle or rent individually.

We are particularly delighted by the Swinburne Student Curators film bundles currently featuring dance and music but across the board there is really something for everyone.

Dance Like Nobody’s Watching Bundle

Curated by Swinburne students: Lewis Harvey, Estee Ho, Michael Hollis, Noah Kanapathippillai, Edward Lee, Madeline Levi and George Kapaklis.

  1. A Ballerina’s Tale – featuring Misty Copeland
  2. Stop Making Sense – the 1984 concert movie recorded and edited from three live performances featuring Talking Heads.
  3. Climax – the thrills and intensity of a dance troupe’s rehearsal that descends into pure horror.
  4. The Producers – the creation of the worst musical ever made.
  5. Tales of Beatrix Potter starring the Royal Ballet.

The Music of Love and Empowerment Bundle 

Curated by Swinburne students: Moira Basil, Matthew Blakely, Hudson Camilleri, Natasha Chase, Mason Clark and Simone Craig.

  1. The Beatles: Eight Days a Week – The Touring Years.
  2. The Music of Strangers: Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble.
  3. Matangi/Maya/M.I.A – documentary featuring Sri Lankan artist M.I.A.
  4. Ryuichi Sakamoto: Coda – “One of the greatest documentaries about the creative process” the Telegraph, featuring Ryuichi Sakamoto.
  5. Murundak: Songs of Freedom – A journey into the heart of Aboriginal protest music following The Black Arm Band.
