Posted by Team APATA | Feb 4, 2020

Launching in 1920 as the Association of Teachers of Operatic Dance in Great Britain, RAD (Royal Academy of Dance) as we know it today was initiated out of a meeting of leading dance professionals lead by Phillip Richardson, former Editor of the Dancing Times in London.

Today the RAD proudly supports a global membership of 14,000 and a presence in 84 countries achieving from its early foundations in 1920 to become one of the world’s most influential dance education organisations.

Centenary celebrations are well underway as the world of dance commemorates this remarkable milestone with merchandise, books, workshops, conferences, gala’s through to masterclasses and workshops. For your complete guide visit ‘100 Events in 100 Places’.

The RAD has been inspiring the world of dance for a century focusing on quality ballet training, encouraging its teachers to perfect their teaching skills and pass on this knowledge to their students.
