Mentorships to Align with Crowded House Tour
Posted by The Push | Feb 10, 2022
The Push is partnering with Crowded House and Live Nation to create an unparalleled mentorship experience. The initiative focuses on providing opportunities for women and gender non-binary people, who have a historically lower participation rate within Australia’s live entertainment sector, to progress their career pathways within contemporary music.
The program will support two young people with the opportunity to gain substantial work experience, develop skills, networks, practical training, mentorship, and confidence in bespoke roles on the upcoming Crowded House ‘Dreamers are Waiting’ tour across Australia’s most prominent and busiest live entertainment venues.
The successful mentees will be mentored in the roles of Stage Technician and Tour and Production Management, supporting Sarin Moddle and Manny Economidis, seasoned tour professionals. The mentees will be included as official members of the Crowded House touring team, with access to meet regularly with other crew members including industry veterans Nik Tischler, Live Nation’s Vice President of Touring and Logistics and Robert Herr, Crowded House Tour and Production Manager. The program also provides training from Arts Centre Melbourne, which will cover event safety and event bump in/bump out, before heading off on the national tour in April.
The successful applicants will be selected through a competitive application process, focusing on the applicant’s ability to demonstrate a commitment to a career in technical production or tour management.
Crowded House’s ‘Dreamers are Waiting’ tour commences in April 2022, with the iconic Aussie rockers set to perform their fresh new music and legendary anthems across Adelaide, Sydney, Melbourne, Bowral, and Byron Bay.
Applications close 5pm, Tuesday 22 February 2022
Applicants will be notified of outcome: Thursday 3 March 2022
