We love Juiced TV – Lights, Camera Action!

The Queensland Children’s Hospital has officially opened a permanent, in-house production studio as the new home for Juiced TV. The new Juiced Studio will provide a dedicated space for filming and creative interactive experiences in the hospital for Queensland’s sickest children and their families. Over the past nine years, more than 5,500 patients and families have been part of Juiced TV. The world-first initiative has created more than 1,000 episodes and 70,000 hours of content.

Queensland’s sickest kids now have greater access to the fun, distraction and stardom of Juiced TV, with the opening of an in-house studio at the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Juiced TV, the world-first television show made by kids in hospital, for kids in hospital, was created as a way to give young patients the chance to star in their own TV show and share their hospital journey in an empowering and positive way.

Children’s Health Queensland has partnered with Juiced TV since its launch in 2015 sharing content for kids in hospital via the Queensland Children’s Hospital patient entertainment system and mobile app. Celebrity and special guests to appear on the show and delight young patients over the years have included Margot Robbie, Tom Holland, Chris Hemsworth and Ed Sheeran.

The Juiced app, which brings together entertainment and health education, aims to improve the hospital journey for children and young people in all Queensland paediatric wards, particularly in rural and regional areas.

Nine years later, the world-first program has a physical production studio in the hospital to further engage with thousands of patients and their families. The colourful space, designed by Brisbane artist Kirsten Baade, is located in the entertainment precinct on Level 6 of the Queensland Children’s Hospital.

Congratulations Juiced TV – awesome achievement that brings much joy to many visiting the hospital.
