DRUMMER QUEENS

Posted by Team APATA | Feb 25, 2021

Here is a live music experience that’s up close, powerful, live, loud and takes over the theatre! With an all-Australian creative team and cast, Drummer Queens was created as a celebration of female percussionists and a forum for celebrating their incredible skill, passion and energy. The Australian Premier season is up and running showcasing 8 extraordinary women, created and composed by Joe Accaria, with creative direction by Nigel Turner-Carroll and choreography by Peta Anderson.

The all-Australian cast includes: Georgia Anderson, Stef Furnari, Niki Johnson, Salina Myat, Lisa Purmodh, Claudia Wherry, Peta Anderson and Ned Wu, with Sasha Lian Diaz as swing performer. Drummer Queens encapsulates electronic sounds and rythum combined with a little stomp, tap dog sense of timing, story-telling, interaction, furturist production with precise lighting and quirky humour to assault the senses. It’s something a little different that connects straight with the audience delivering beautiful stage craft and seamless polish.

If you’ve missed the Sydney season, tickets still available for Melbourne and Brisbane.
