The City of Sydney Creative Studios (CoSCS) is a vibrant, multi-storey creative hub situated in the heart of Sydney. Operated by Brand X on behalf of the City of Sydney, their mission is to foster creativity, collaboration, and productivity in the arts sector by providing accessible and affordable spaces for artists and the public alike.
The Brand X center boasts a diverse range of tenanted and hire spaces tailored to meet the needs of various creative disciplines. They include:
- Music Studios: Equipped with state-of-the-art recording and production equipment, our music studios are ideal for musicians, producers, and sound engineers looking to create and refine their work in a professional setting.
- Performance Rehearsal Spaces: Our performing arts spaces are designed to accommodate rehearsals, workshops, and showings. These flexible spaces are perfect for theatre groups, dancers, and performance artists seeking an inspiring environment to develop their craft.
- Digital Media Studios: With the latest technology and software, our digital media studios support a wide range of activities, including video production, animation, graphic design, and more.
- Visual Arts Studios: Our visual arts studios cater to painters, sculptors, photographers, and mixed-media artists. These spaces are well-lit and spacious, offering a conducive environment for creating and offering an environment conducive to many visual arts forms and practices.
- Business Space: From screening or meeting rooms available for casual hire, or office space for arts business tenancies.

What Is Brand X?
The team at Brand X re-purpose empty properties so performing, recording and visual artists can practice their craft. By working with property developers, landlords and local government Brand X transforms empty spaces into cultural places that allow artists to contribute, flourish and be sustainable in the community.

Brand X’s vision is to support the creative sector in Sydney to experiment and innovate. We create partnerships, mobilise networks and commit resources to enable artists to pursue their practice sustainably. We incentivise the creative sector to develop entrepreneurial skills and resilience in order to become self-sustaining outside of traditional funding avenues. We support creative works and practitioners to influence and create cultural impact. We contribute to local communities by fostering healthy, connected, creative outcomes.
Mission
Brand X provides high quality, affordable spaces that are accessible by any member of the creative sector in order to provide equitable access to cultural infrastructure. Our mission is to support the sector in sustaining their practice and their livelihood in Sydney in the long-term by being the largest long-term affordable space provider in Sydney. We bridge two worlds: creativity and property by transforming spaces into creative places.
