Bus Stop Films’ Accessible Film Studies Program is taught by industry professionals with the assistance of disability support workers. Students have the opportunity to learn all things filmmaking in some of Australia’s leading educational facilities.
The year long program is based on their award winning Accessible Film Studies Curriculum and inclusive learning philosophy through exclusive workshops, excursions, workplace opportunities, and collaborative work on a film project.
Students build transformative life skills including; improved social and communication skills, develop friendships, increased confidence and work ready skills.
Growing their national footprint Bus Stop workshops will be held in Sydney, Parramatta, Wollongong, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and the Blue Mountains, Perth and Launceston.
Am I eligible?
Open to individuals who are 17 years of age or older and who have a mild to moderate disability or live with an Autism Spectrum Disorder, with a strong focus on those who live with intellectual disability.
Whilst classrooms are supported by Support Workers, students who require specific support such as Auslan Interpreters, Live Captioning, one-on-one support, etc. will need to fund these through their own NDIS packages.
Our programs run from February – December each year, with weekly classes. All programs have four terms per year and 10 classes in each term. Students enrolling are enrolling into the full year.
Bus Stop Films is committed to creating a COVID safe environment for our staff, students and community. All staff and students must be fully vaccinated against Covid19 or provide a medical exemption.
