Australian Poetry Slam 2023

Word Travels is searching for the next Australian Slam Poetry Champion. It’s a literal literary babble-on as slams pop up around the country throughout August and September.

From small towns to major metropolises, local libraries to street soirées, mics will be running hot with the vocal flows of the best spoken word talent Australia has to offer.

Poetry lovers cheer on your local wordsmiths as they compete for a spot in your state’s final — and ultimately a place on the National Final line-up. The poet crowned 2023 APS Champion will be awarded with a prize package worth $20,000, including publishing opportunities and gigs from Byron to Bali and beyond.

Heats are on across the country. 2 minute time limit to make an impression with an original work.
