Posted by Team APATA | Nov 28, 2019

It’s been a big lead up to this year’s ARIA Awards and the anticipation to see who would win Music Teacher of the year has been palpable!

Congratulations go to… Antonio Chiappetta!! From St Andrews College, Marayong (Official) NSW.

Chosen for his excellence in education and his extraordinary impact on his classroom and community. Inspiring his students to stage their Creative Arts Night as a music festival on school grounds which is now the largest school music and performance event in Australia.

“It was initially an attempt to showcase music students in a way that tapped into my music industry experience and within three years, the dynamic had increased along with attendance.

Mr Chiappetta has found a way to give his students the type of music education model he wished he had as a student as well as giving them invaluble insight into the full scope of an event of this size. Going from 700 people filling the hall at capacity to a whopping 1200 ticketed outdoor event for the whole community.

Challenging his students to develop creatively Mr Chiappetta has inspired an atmosphere of potential, positivity and performance experiences like no other for his students.

Well done Antonio Chiappetta, 2019 Telstra ARIA Music Teacher of the Year!
