All My Loving…

Posted by NFSA | May 6, 2021

The NFSA has published a Young Talent Time curated collection to celebrate the television program’s 50th anniversary on 24 April 2021.

Working your way through the online curated collection brings back a flood of warm memories – for many Generation Xers this was weekly family television not to be missed. Everyone had a favourite child artist and, word for word, many of us still today can sing along to the programs closing tune…’All My Loving’.

Young Talent Time was our very own home-grown talent, endeared my many across the nation. The variety show, which ran for more than 800 episodes, was an important part of many Australian childhoods with its enduring mix of music, dance, fun, friendship, and family.

The team line-up changed over time, with 40 talented performers joining pop singer-songwriter and host Johnny Young over the show’s 18-year run.

The show kick-started many successful careers including Tina Arena, Dannii Minogue, Debra Byrne, Jamie Redfern, Jane Scali, Sally Boyden, Karen Knowles, and Philip Gould.

The online collection captures key memories from the show, including first and last performances by team members, live shows, birthday specials, incredible costumes, and rare footage.

Exploring this curated collection is heart-warming, full of fond memories, and  pure joy!

Head to the NFSA (National Film and Sound Archive of Australia) to travel back in time and connect with those childhood memories.
