Commence your submission when you’re ready.
To enter your submission, please go to the awards submission portal. Please note you need to be logged into your account to access and open the portal.
Once a submission is started you can complete it over numerous sessions, it doesn’t need to be completed straight away or in one sitting. You can save and continue your submission up until the closing date – midnight on the 31 January 2020.
A member of the APATA team is available to you throughout the process, should you require any assistance.
Complete your submission by midnight on 31 January 2020.
Your submission needs to be finalised and submitted in the system by midnight AEDT on 31 January 2020. No further changes are permitted after this time or to any submission that has been formally submitted as confirmed through the awards entry portal.
The awards presentation is scheduled for April 2020.

Fees & Charges
What is the fee per submission?
Award submission fee’s $50.00 per entry (excluding gst)
Nominations for Award 13 The Meskell Award – Honorary Award (submission fee is not applied)
All entries for the APATA National Awards Program are submitted, managed and judged via an online system, which enables entrants to upload all relevant material including ‘Statement of Purpose’, images, video and/or audio files to address the relevant criteria. All submissions must be prepared online. Hard copy submissions will not be accepted.
Entries can be submitted in multiple categories, but respective judging criteria must be addressed. To enter you will need to be logged into your account to access the awards entry portal. Once you have accessed the entry portal follow the instructions to complete your submission.
For each entry you must:
Address the specific judging criteria
Attach a Member Statement
Attach any supporting material
Attach your personal photo and/or logo
Pay entry fee

File Formats, Size and Attachments
Upload jpeg, pdf or word files
Maximum 10 attachments with each file size not bigger that 5MB
Video attachments may be hosted on a video site such as YouTube, Vimeo or link provided to drop box (no more than 2-3 minutes long) with the exception of the ‘People’s Choice Award’ (max 8 minutes).
When providing URLs please ensure any applicable usernames and passwords are provided or deactivated to allow judges access.
Should judges be unable to access URLs they are unable to review with your submission.
Do I Require Permissions?
If you are entering the work of others as part of your submission you will need permission to use their content (e.g. images). It is the responsibility of the entrant to ensure permission and approvals have been granted by third parties.
Award entries is for the period of 1 January 2019 – 31 December 2019.
Can I Withdraw My Submission After the Due Date?
All submission cancellations (withdrawal) must be made in writing to APATA.
Submission fees will be refunded if cancellation is received via written notification prior to the submission closing date of midnight AEDT on 31 January 2020.

Can Non-Members Enter the Awards?
You must be a member to enter into an award category.
Award candidates who are peer nominated must also be or become members to be considered for an award category.
The Meskell Award is excluded as members have the right to nominate any individual for this category. All nominations for The Meskell Award will be considered.
How Will My Submission Be Judged?
Each category is judged by an independent panel of industry professionals and peers. Judging of entries will include a review of the written submission against criteria for each category and additional content via images and video files.
APATA reserves the right to reallocate award submissions to another category if it is considered to be a more appropriate fit. In this instance, the entrant will be notified, and they will be given the option to amend their submission.
The decision of the judging panel is final and will not be subject to challenge by an entrant or other parties.
What Happens After I Submit My Entry?
After submissions close APATA conducts an external health check to ensure all projects are entered in the appropriate categories. Once the health check is complete, APATA coordinates category judging of entries with the appointed judging panel.
Can I Be Disqualified?
Yes! Under no circumstances should an entrant be in contact with or approach a member of the judge’s panel to discuss a submission. Should APATA be made aware of such behaviour, your entry will be disqualified immediately.
Should an entry not have the required approvals and permissions from interested third parties, APATA will immediately remove and disqualify the entry.
Will You Tell Me If I’ve Won Beforehand?
Most definitely not!
How Do I Become A Judge?
APATA regularly rotates its judges and invites senior members of the industry to participate.

Please note you cannot be an entrant in the awards and a judge at the same time.

Finalists and winners will be announced in April 2020.
