Rachel has been teaching speech and drama for 19 years. She currently is the director of a highly successful private studio and is also the principal Speech and Drama Educator at Meriden School for Girls in Strathfield, Sydney.
.
Rachel is currently a Director of the International Music Education Body (IMEB), as well as a syllabus consultant and senior examiner for speech and drama. She has been examining for 9 years and has extensive adjudicating experience.
.
Rachel is enthusiastic and deeply committed to developing communication and performance skills and gifts in students. Her mission is to ‘encourage and develop confident and creative communicators, in any environment.’

As we draw to a close a successful 2023, we wanted to take this opportunity to congratulate you all on this year’s achievements.
.
From exams, eisteddfods, and showcases through to end of year recitals and concerts, often we have little time to stop and reflect on how much we have given and delivered throughout the year working with our students. It is a timely reminder that through it all and amongst the busy schedules you have consistently showed up, supported and cheered from the sidelines, encouraged student learning and development in their practice and performance.
.
As we head into the festive season to enjoy time with family and friends, produce a joyful Christmas and take in some much needed rest and relaxation, quickly 2024 will be upon us and we’ll be on the go all over again. Let’s be honest we enjoy the break but being on the go creating performance is our happy place!
.
So with a BIG thank you to the super users who are always there to support us, the early members who have been with us from the beginning and to all the incredible performing arts teachers who make APATA what it is, we look forward to working with you all again in 2024.
.
We look forward to our biggest awards season yet in 2024, keep your entries coming in! Entries close 1st March 2024. We have connected with, and learnt from, some wonderful people this year and we look forward to meeting our 2024 presenters for our program of professional development and creative pathway courses.
